WHAT IS THE RETREAT LIKE?
On the occasion of the Day of the Dead we will carry out this retreat of sacred ceremonies to be able to take advantage of the energy of this great celebration in one of the most important territories of the tradition: Teotihuacan. We will work with the energy of the earth inside the sacred caves that are there so that each one can live a series of healing activities and spiritual connection with the help of a group of almost ten traditional doctors and therapists. Our work will be carried out at the Huehueteotl Ceremonial Center located a short distance from the pyramids, with about twelve activities at a very accessible all-inclusive cost. Below you will find a brief description of each ceremony and activity
ANTIVITIES
[Saturday]
RECEPTION AND WELCOME | 1:30 in the afternoon
ENERGY CLEANING CIRCLE | 2 pm
Inside a cave with a powerful zenith passage of sunlight, six traditional doctors will perform energy cleansing techniques on each person individually under the beam of light, such as cleaning with bouquet, fire, smoke, swords, tobacco, feathers, drum , among other.
INTERACTION WITH ANIMALS | 2 pm
We will have the presence of amazing animals such as owls, snakes and hawks from the hand of the “Mictlan” Ecological Conservation Foundation, an association in charge of the rescue and conservation of species, who will tell us about them, we can touch them and take photos with a professional photographer . This is an activity for animals and the Safe Foundation found a part of the proceeds to continue fulfilling its mission.
INSTALLATION INSIDE THE CAVES AND CEREMONIAL PREPARATION | 3 pm
Most of the activities will be carried out in a large cave, where we will also rest at night. At this time everyone will install their space. After that, there will be an explanation of the dynamics of the ceremonies that will follow.
ASSEMBLY OF THE ALTAR OF THE DEAD AND EXPLANATION OF ITS SYMBOLS | 4 pm
The assembly of our altar of the dead will be carried out together with specialists in topics of Mexicanity and tradition who will explain their symbols and share information about the spiritual meanings of death, the Mijkiawitl and the Miktlan.
RAPÉ AND SANANGA CIRCLE WITH MEDICINAL SONGS | 5 p. M.
We will receive the snuff medicine, which is a herbal application technique in which a plant powder is blown through the nose, which is relaxing of the nervous system, helps for problems with migraines, colds, sinusitis, among others. Sananga will also be offered, an indigenous eye drop also of Amazonian origin, which is applied in the form of drops in the eyes and which has the benefits of cleaning them of impurities, treating various ophthalmological, skin and energy problems.
CONCERT OF TIBETAN BOWLS | 6 pm
Once each person is located in their space within the cave, a group of therapists will perform a concert of simultaneous playing of 7-metal bowls, fostering deep meditation and preparing body, soul and spirit for the ceremonial work of the night.
CEREMONY OF SACRED MEDICINE XANGA | 7 pm
After lighting the sacred bonfire, applications of Xanga Medicine will be made, which has great benefits such as: connection with the deep world of oneself and spiritual, healing of emotions, treatment for depression and anxiety, discovery of one's own truth and increased self-esteem, among others.
GREAT DRUM CEREMONY | 9 p. M.
A large shamanic drum played simultaneously by 8 traditional doctors will be used, taking advantage of the acoustics of the cave and guiding a work of healing and deep connection based on pure vibration and energy.
CACAO CEREMONY | 11 p. M.
We will perform a ceremonial shot of sacred cocoa that will last about 4 hours of work to connect with our spiritual energy, open our hearts and work on increasing our love for our loved ones, living and dead.
LIGHT FOOD AND REST | 3 a. M.
At the end of the ceremony, we can break the fast by eating something light. Then we will rest inside the cave.
[Monday]
TEMAZCAL | 10 a. M.
In a large traditional Temazcal we will conclude our personal work. This medicine consists of entering a closed module in which volcanic stones are placed that will evaporate a tea of ​​medicinal herbs to promote different therapeutic effects.
LIGHT FOOD AND DEPARTURE | 1 pm
When leaving the Temazcal we will have a meal that will include soy and fruit ceviche. After that we will leave the ceremonial center.
TOUR OF PRE-HISPANIC CRAFT WORKSHOPS | 2 pm
We will visit various artisan workshops in the region, in which they will tell us about their processes, we will have tastings and we will be able to buy handicrafts and food. Among them we will go to the cocoa museum, an interactive workshop of pre-Hispanic clay crafts, a pulcata and an obsidian workshop. This is to contribute to the economy of the region and discover its great tradition.
FAREWELL | 4 pm
